About this position
MaP aims to transform industries working with natural and man-made materials, providing never-before possible understanding of the microstructure of the materials they work with. We are a startup passionate about improving the world with science and software and are looking for exceptional people to join our collective of engineers and scientists. Our focus is the systematic integration of new capabilities into our products, serving more industries with unique insights into the makeup of their source materials and their own final products. As a member of MaP, you will play a critical role in our efforts to push the state of the art in automated image analysis.
This will include the following tasks
Understanding the state-of-the art algorithms in machine learning-based image analysis and bringing your experience and intuitions to bear on how best to apply them to new tasks.
Solving the high-resolution imaging-specific research and engineering problems that arise, in areas such as instance segmentation, object class detection and multi-modal image registration.
Developing and maintaining our software products.
Building integrated solutions that apply our technology towards specific product verticals.
Desired skills and experience
Masters in a computer vision-related discipline, or software engineering with equivalent professional experience in at least some of the following areas:
- object class and instance detection
- image segmentation
- multi-modal image registration
Publication record, industry experience or open source contributions in the above-mentioned areas.
Strong C++ and/or Python skills. Experience developing with OpenCV, TensorFlow, ImageJ, MATLAB.
Solid background in physics is a plus.
Good general working knowledge of IT and networking.
Fluent in English, good level of German is a plus.
